Quarry Gap Shelter
Got a great nights sleep in at the Shelter..
The rain and wind were strong and the feeling of "Thank God we're protected from the rain". If it rains for 2 days then everything gets wet.
We hiked all day through the rain and hiked 2.1m to the Waynesburro Pennsylvania WalMart for a resupply..$76.
We had fattened ourselves on a bag each of our favorite granola with fresh blueberries and raspberries and milk and Dan called uber $7.25 go a ride back. A retired fed worker drove us back to the trail. Way cool my 1st uber ride.
Then it was time to put in the miles. At about mile 20 "Johnny Sunami " showed up. We had met him at the Shelter before Harpers Ferry. Well Dan connected with the upbeat kid seeing him again got both our spirits up. For the next 3 downhill miles I was able to keep up with the young men and listen to all their Star Wars talk on books they read and movies.
Johnny's got music playing and chatting with another guy at the Shelter about the AT and it's stories. Johnny's hooked on the trail life. He'll finish the AT..work..Finish the El Camino trail..work...go onto the next trail.
Got a 27 and 29 day coming up.
