Nice hike through the Shenandoah Mountains.
I'm listening to a through hiker who's an ex police officer .Earl, who is 75 years old and is smoking and drinking bourbon and wants to hike a 30mile day but his younger buddies don't seem thrilled.
I asked him what sports he played in high school. He said he played soccer and loved running around the field. He said his son ran the Boston Marathon and came in 3200 place the first time and 200 the second time and he's running for the 3rd time this year. Ok now I know the 75year old passed on a good copy of his genes to his son.
You do meet incredible anomalies on The AT Trail.
