Last night through early morning was a lot of rain. I also heard a coyote which caused the year old huskey that was with a young couple in a tent to huff and puff.
The huskey did not pick up on the 2am footsteps that went by our Shelter in the rain. Sounded like a persons footsteps except it was off the trail so it had to be something else.
We had a wet day hiking and had to improvise to get across swollen streams.
There was a number of ridges that we hiked along as well as hiking through mountain pastures.
I did create a new AT game... Bushmeat (Dan) and Spearchucker (me). It began when I finally started to catch up to on the downhill using my usual "Tarahamara" style of running with my 2 spears (hiking poles). Dan started trash talking on how slow I am so I called him Bushmeat and said I'd chuck my spears at him. I chased him down the mountain falling twice while Bushmeat fell once. I caught up to him at the turn and notified him that he was within spear chucking range. Bushmeat turned back into a gazelle and was gone.
Ahh things the Mattimore Clan does on The AT Trail to pass the time.
