Crampton Shelter

We hiked a quick 9 miles into Harpers Ferry. A historic town where the Shenandoah River and the Potomac River meet.

We stopped in the Appalachian Conservatory and got our pictures taken for the book. We were the 55th and 56th North bound through hikers in. I left my hat there but by the time I figured that out it was getting late so we headed back to the trail.

We stopped for lunch and then to the outfitter for new hiking poles and shoes.
Finally we head for the ice cream shop. I got a two scoop black cherry ice cream cone that was so big the guy also handed me a pint sized cup and spoon.

Then hiked another 10miles into Maryland to our new tent site.

It was a cool sunny day. No real hard trails.
