Getting out at 5:15am to hike 25miles and got subs and ice cream in Dalton.
The toads are jumping out of the way of our steps. I hope the toads hurry up and get fat on gnats and mosquitoes which are unbearable at times.
Massachusetts is different terrain than other states. More pine and rounded mountains. Glacial ponds, swamps, and swamps turned back into ponds by beavers.
We are both getting used to the heat. The key is drinking more water than you think you need and drinking often. That slows us down so it puts in for a longer day.. 13 hours.
Moose has been spotted in this area. And we saw the scat on the trail.
I'm up to 23 falls so far...maybe I'll break Scott Jerrick's record of 120. Dan is at 5.
