Was a thunderous night! Got a late start in the morning. Rains had stopped and tent had dried.
Fairly cool day. Paths were fairly rocky but mainly flat.
Saw two northbounders slack packing south. And met one new northbounder named downwind. All 3 hikers started in early Feb.
Saw a black and a garter snake both that I almost stepped on and both got the same scream. Statistically I'll almost step on 15 more snakes, Fall 16 more times, and get hit in the head by a tree 4 more times. I'm only worried about tangling with a rattle snake. So far I avoided stepping on 1 rattle snake. So far I haven't had to add bears to my stats.
Got trail magic from a 77 year old man at a trail crossing. Root beer grape juice cape cod cheese puffs a box of trail bars. That got me through my 22 mile day! Very kind Trail Angels out here.
24 miles tomorrow and we'll meet up with my cousin Mike Hirsch!
