Osgood Tent Sites
We left the Mizpah AMC hut by 6:30 and headed out through the Presidentials. The AT only hit Mt Washington and Mt Madison as well as a long rocky ridge line.
I liked Mt Madison over Mt Washington only because Mt Madison contained only cairns as evidence that man traveled there. While Mt Washington had a train, a gift shop, a snake bar etc.
There were other mountains I would have liked to climb but were bypassed by the trail.
The weather held out for us. There were lots of tourists and day hikers enjoying the trail.
We'll have the smaller "WildCats" to do tomorrow for an 18m day. We expect rain for the next 4 days.
I'm at Fall #52. .#48 was memorable in that I fell backwards with my foot in a cravass when a 15lb boulder rolled onto my stuck foot.
Im using my poles to support some of my weight before stepping downhill. The thigh mussels have taken a beating on the straight uphill and downhills of the whites.
We are in the home stretch.
